Wanderlust: My Travel Bucket List

As I get older, the more traveling possibilities I see. I hear about amazing places and add them to my list. My best friend recently honeymooned in Tennessee. I never considered visiting the mountains there (Nashville, yes. Mountains, no.), but she said it is so refreshing. I have so many other places I need to see. I hope that I get the chance and I hope that I can document these adventures on the blog! I’ll also be using some of my favorite ways to travel on a budget.

Here is the current bucket list:

1. Charlotte

This is my next adventure. I never really thought about Charlotte until I read Taralynn’s blog, but have always liked the Carolinas. I decided to do some research about the city and followed some Charlotte instagrams. I am totally in love with a city I’ve never seen. It seems like there is so much going on there and it’s only two hours from Asheville…amazing! The boyfriend and I will probably be taking a long weekend trip there in September. (I also not so secretly really want to move to there). While I’m there I want to check out Crowders Mountain, a juice bar (we don’t really have those in Pittsburgh; I nearly died when I found a Jamba Juice in the Denver airport), breweries, and restaurants since it seems like a foodie city.

2. Asheville

Back in September 2015, I was in Asheville for less than 3 hours. We drove through on our way home from Myrtle Beach. I love this city and all that it has to offer. I want to explore more of it. We only really saw downtown and got to eat at the Mellow Mushroom. This city has a vibe that I really like. I also LOVE the Blue Ridge Mountains; they are gorgeous. I would love to try Zen Tubing – what’s better than floating down the river AND you can have your cooler of adult beverages with you? I also really need to see Pisgah National Forest and drive the Blue Ridge Parkway.

3. New York City

When I was 19, I watched Gossip Girl on Netflix like it was my job. I never had a desire to see it until then. I’ve had it on my bucket list for a long time now. Of course, I want to partake in all the cliche things you do in NYC and enjoy great food. I might also pretend I’m Blair or Serena for a few minutes.

4. New Orleans

I am dying to see New Orleans. It seems like fun city with so much to offer to tourists. After doing some research, it looks like The French Quarter is a must-see. I think I would also like to try crawfish while I’m there.

5. A cruise

This isn’t a specific place, but to get specific…I’d really love to see St. Marrten and St. Thomas. I was supposed to on my last cruise, but a tropical storm made the ship take a different route. Otherwise, I want to see a of couple islands and relax on a ship with unlimited buffets. I love the option to either relax or keep busy. The last two cruises I went on were through Princess Cruises and I would definitely travel with them again. Everyone was so friendly and there was plenty of entertainment.

6. Colorado

I know of quite a few high school classmates that have moved their lives to Colorado and absolutely love it. I would really love to see it as well and would most likely end up visiting Denver. I also have a good friend from middle school who lives out there whom I would love to visit! I really want to see what all the fuss is about 🙂 I’m a huge fan of mountains so this is a must-go place for me. I might also want to ski there…some day.

I have sooo many other places on my list, but these are my immediate travel goals.

What places are on your bucket list?
