52 Weeks of Gratitude: Week 3

52 Weeks of Gratitude - Week 3

I hope everyone had a great week! I’m on day 5 of recovering from my surgery on Wednesday. This time off has given me the chance to work on blogging, because I can’t do much else. It has also given me time to think of my gratitude this week.

Here are a few things I’m grateful for this week:

1. Modern Medicine

Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate doctors and (most) modern medicine. However, it has its time and place. I probably shouldn’t have ignored the belly button pain for however long I had it, but I did and I was able to get it taken care of quickly. Most of the time, I try to take care of any issues I have holistically, but in this case it was not possible. So, what am I grateful for? I am grateful for modern medicine and amazing doctors and surgeons. I am grateful that my dad’s insurance allowed me to go the hospital with the best doctors (since my new insurance won’t allow me). I am grateful that every single staff member I came in contact with on Wednesday was so incredibly personable and sweet. It made my time there pleasant, despite having to get a small incision in my belly. I am truly grateful that I have the option to use modern medicine when I need to.

2. Chicken Noodle Soup

I know it sounds silly, but it has so many nutrients and healing properties, and it’s light. I have consumed more chicken both broth than I ever thought I would. Brian made me the BEST chicken noodle soup which I have been thoroughly enjoying. My best friend also brought me cans of chicken noodle soup. It’s one the best soups to have whenever you’re feeling sick or are recovering.

3.My co-workers

When I came home after my surgery, I turned on my phone and had bunch of texts from co-workers checking on me. On Thursday, they continued to check in and I received a card from one of them. It is so nice to know that people do truly care.
