Weekend Recap – 7.22.16

Weekend Recap 72216

Did anyone else feel the heat this past weekend? Yikes! It was hot and sticky in Pittsburgh. Other than the heat, I had great weekend and I hope you did too!

Friday night I was exhausted and I can’t even remember what we ate for dinner. I do remember the late evening run to get ice cream though 🙂

Saturday morning I had big plans to hang out with my mom. We grabbed breakfast at the adorable and amazing Beaver Bagel Co. I got the mixed berry bagel which was a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, sliced strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Oh. My. Goodness. I must go back. The picture below doesn’t do it justice. We sat outside on the front porch and I’m the crazy person who needed hot coffee on a 90 degree day.

Our next stop was a meditation group in Sewickley. We’ve attended the group before but at a different location. The type of meditation is Sahaja Yoga Meditation and I really enjoy it. It’s been since the fall that I’ve gone and I’m glad we got a chance to go on Saturday. Note to self: don’t drink a cup of coffee before meditation.

After meditation, we headed to 3rd Street in Beaver to check out Herban Touch Juice Lab. I got the Sun Salute juice and it was so good and refreshing on a hot day. There aren’t any juice bars in my area of town so I was really happy I got a chance to check out this place. They also have smoothies, food, and homemade hummus. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

When we walked outside I saw this cool mural:

It’s on the building that the juice bar is located which is in a wellness center building. Perfect.

We also decided to have lunch at Soup-Herb Sproutz which is on the main street. Their salads are sooo good and I definitely recommend checking them out some time.

#SaladSaturday should definitely be a thing

I got back home mid-afternoon…cue nap time. Binx snuggled up with me and it made my heart melt.

After much debate when Brian got home, we finally decided to drive an hour to Jambrewzle. It was at Four Seasons Brewery in Latrobe and the Derek Woods Band was headlining. I was expecting it to be a bigger event, but it ended up being small and intimate. It was like a mini music festival. I’m so happy we made the hour trip go. I loved the music and I always enjoy checking out local breweries.

Sunday morning we headed to the gym and then did some shopping at Walmart. Nothing overly exciting. This weekend we’re headed to a music festival in New York. I’m pretty worried about the weather since it’s supposed to storm, but we’ll be prepared. Kinda wishing I had held off on buying tickets and decided to go to the Ledges this weekend…buttttt I’ll make the best of it. I’m sure it will be awesome.

What are you plans this weekend?
