2018 Goals

I’m a little late to the party, but I’m ready to share with you my goals for 2018. I don’t set resolutions, but I do take the time to write down what I want to do and accomplish each year. Every year that I have done this, I have completed almost everything on my list. I believe in the power of writing down goals and intentions.

Here are my goals for 2018:

Lose Weight

It is my goal to finally, once and for all, lose the effing weight. After getting the stomach flu (or food poisoning, still unclear on that one) in September, I lost almost 10 pounds and I felt amazing. I also had a job at the time that kept me moving most of the day, so I was able to maintain it. Now, I’m at a job where I sit for 9. Hours. A. Day. (losing my mind). I’ve also never loved exercise. I can eat healthy food until the cows come home, but moving my body hasn’t been my top priority. I am going to learn to love exercise. It’s so important for so many reasons, but my big motivator right now is fitting into my wedding dress by May 5th for my first fitting. Yes, I am currently on Pinterest pinning all things fitness.

Read More Books

I started my reading kick in late 2016 and it certainly didn’t stop in 2017. I have a whole list of books I’m reading this year (and it keeps growing). I absolutely love reading personal development books and I’m so excited to read the ones on my list.

Buy a House

This is a lofty goal, but one I am determined to make happen this year. How does someone do this while planning a wedding? I have no clue, but I’ve seen people do it. I’m working on saving a ton of money. We’ve been pre-approved, but we realized what we want is actually a little out of our current price range. We’re starting to look at what they call a “starter home”, but we also kinda sorta want a 2 car garage, an acre of land, at least 3 bedrooms, and a giant kitchen. One day we’re not settling too hard, and other days Brian is showing me houses in very questionable neighborhoods. “But they’re cheap!” He says…but we also might get mugged at our front door…just sayin’. Wish me luck on this endeavor.

Meditate

My spirituality has grown exponentially over the last year, and meditating has definitely assisted with that. The benefits of meditation are amazing. I feel more centered and relaxed. I sleep really well. I prefer guided meditations over just sitting in silence and YouTube has been a great resource.

Plan the Wedding without Losing my Mind

So far, I’ve done pretty well with planning. Not losing my mind? Not so much… Kidding. It’s been an interesting process with the usual stress. I am also way ahead of the planning game. All the big things are planned, we are now working on the fun, small details.

Start My Business

While I won’t share the details quite yet, I do have big plans for this year. This is the year I finally work towards my dream of running my own creative business. I am really ready to make this happen. It’s what I dream about the most and it’s a scary leap, but you have to get uncomfortable to make things happen.
